Gordon College officially starts the Academic Year 2023-2024 with its annually conducted Apertura event with the theme “Paglalayag 2023: Navigating towards New Horizons, Sailing Beyond 25 Years.”

Thousands of students gathered at the East Tapinac Oval Track and shout for their college as they welcome a new academic year.

With colorful things that represent their colleges, student enjoyed different booths and games prepared by student-leaders of their respective programs.

The event suddenly went into silence as a sign of sympathy and condolences for the passing of the father of Prof. Arlida M. Pame, College President.

On the other hand, Olongapo City Mayor, Atty. Rolen C. Paulino Jr. proudly stated in his opening remarks that among almost 5,000 applicants, the institution admitted 2,000 freshmen and said that they were lucky to be accepted due to the high standards of the college.

College Administrator Dr. Imelda DP Soriano, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Darwin P. Paguio, and Olongapo City Councilor Cristabelle Marie “Tata” C. Paulino also graced the stage and gave an inspirational speech in front of the students.

As the A.Y. 2023–2024 officially started, the new elected officers from different organizations took their oaths, led by Mayor Paulino Jr. Along with the presentation of the new officials of the Gordon College Supreme Student Council (GC-SSC).

The event proper ended with the first ever grand entrance ceremony of students to the Gordon College building, officiated by Ms. Lovelyn P. Ceralde, Vice President for the Office of Student Welfare and Services (OSWS).
