Students and faculty from the Gordon College – College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (GC-CHTM) showcased their skills and creativity at the 18th Philippine Food Expo 2026, held from April 17 to 19 at the World Trade Center Manila.
Leading GC-CHTM’s performance, Mr. Michael Dela Cruz, a CHTM faculty member, and Christian Jhay Quioc, a 4th-year BSHM student, secured a bronze medal in the PINASarap Breakfast Competition with their expertly crafted breakfast meal.
Meanwhile, Mr. Vince Richard Gomez, a faculty member, together with Mharvie Ann Pastor, a 4th year Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) student, demonstrated culinary skills in the Creative Filipino Dessert Platter Competition.
In the Philippine Food Expo Knowledge Challenge, Sharmaine Claire Baldo, a 4th year Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) student, and Heidi Lyne Bajado, a 4th-year BSHM student, showcased strong knowledge and coordination throughout the competition.
Meanwhile, Nikki Vince Neil Yoro, a CHTM faculty member, alongside Reynald Manalo, a 3rd year BSHM student, took part in the Mystery Ingredient Competition, highlighting their creativity and ability to perform under pressure.
The event gathered chefs, entrepreneurs, industry professionals, and food enthusiasts from across the country, featuring Filipino cuisine, innovations, and industry trends through competitions, exhibits, workshops, and seminars. | via Lovely Mae Doroin/The FOREFRONT
