Gordon College has officially been granted Reporter Status in the recent Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026, released last October 9.
The college is among six Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Central Luzon that have been granted this recognition, including:
– Bulacan State University
– Central Luzon State University
– Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology
– Tarlac Agricultural University, and
– City College of San Fernando Pampanga
The Times Higher Education annually releases their World University Rankings that measure the performance of universities in eighteen (18) performance indicators across five core pillars: teaching, research environment, research quality, international outlook, and industry. A reporter status is granted to HEIs who have submitted relevant data but did not meet eligibility criteria to receive a rank. Inclusion in the reporter status allows HEIs to receive feedback in their performance across the metrics to support future decision making.
Meanwhile, Ateneo de Manila University is the highest ranking university in the Philippines with a banded rank of 1001-1200, followed by the University of the Philippines (1201-1500), De la Salle University (1501+), Mapua University (1501+). Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (1501+), and University of Santo Tomas (1501+). The University of Oxford remains to be the top global ranking university for the tenth consecutive year. | via Lance Isaac Leon/The FOREFRONT
