Battle of the Bands

𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧’𝗦 𝗨𝗣, 𝗚𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗡𝗦?!

As we celebrate 𝗚𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝟮𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆, with the theme “𝙂𝘾@𝟮𝟱: 𝙎𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙄𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙩𝙮, 𝙇𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙑𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙀𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨,” we prepared an exciting and rocking event!

We, Gordon College Faculty Association (GCFAS), Gordon College – Supreme Student Council (GCSSC), Gordon College—Tribo ng Math (GCTM), and Junior Financial Executives – Gordon College Chapter (JFINEX), proudly present the 𝗕𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗟𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗦 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰!

The registration period will be open from January 20 to February 2. The elimination round will be held on February 11, 2024 and only 10 slots will be only be alloted for interested participants.

𝗠𝗘𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗚𝗨𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗦:
1. The competition is open to all Gordon College students, personnel, and alumni.
2. Students from other schools may join the competition, provided that 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘴 are currently enrolled at Gordon College.
3. Members should bring school ID, photocopy of school ID, or registration form and 2×2 pictures.
4. Each band should compose a maximum of 5-7 members.
5. Each band should prepare one OPM song and one foreign song for their performance (original composition is allowed).
6. Songs should not contain foul words.
7. Bring your own instruments and equipment except the drum set which will be provided by the event organizers.
8. During the Elimination:
• One OPM song and one foreign song will be played by each band
• NO metal and hard-core genre
• NO foul words
• 15 minutes will be given for each band for performance including set up
• Late on the call time of the event will mean disqualification from the contest
9. Top five bands will be qualified to enter the final showdown which will be held on February 22, 2024, at Gordon College Campus Grounds.

40% — Musicality (Harmony, Rhythm, Sound Quality)
30% — Quality of Performance (Stage Presence and Style)
30% — Creativity and Timing/Instrumentation
