The official student publication of Gordon College, The Forefront, held its first-ever Ceremonial Turnover, yesterday, in line with the opening of classes for the academic year 2023-2024.
The said event was hosted by John Christian Rocero and Mitch Kyvin Bayno, both Radio Broadcaster of the publication.
Also, the initiative was attended by the incoming editorial board and staffers, along with the executive committee last academic year, particularly, the outgoing Editor-in-Chief (EIC), Mr. Reggie Boy Vargas, and Mr. Earvin Jon Arsua, Managing Editor and former EIC of the publication.
Moreover, the publication’s esteemed adviser, Mr. Guiller Marila showed his support for the said initiative, along with Dr. Imelda DP Soriano, the College Administrator, and Ms. Lovelyn P. Ceralde, Vice President for Student Welfare and Services, who extended their best wishes and special message and to the member of The Forefront who will take the lead this academic year.
Meanwhile, the recognition of the hard work of the editorial board and staffers for the academic year 2022-2023 was also conducted during the turnover ceremony.
On the other hand, the passing of pencil led by the outgoing EIC, Mr. Vargas, and accepted by the new EIC, Mr. John Ian G. Marquez, marks the beginning of a new journey and responsibility for student journalists as the new editorial board and staffers took the Journalist’s Creed as their oath of fulfilling the responsibilities of continuously informing and empowering the masses.
The event was concluded through the closing remarks delivered by Mr. Marquez, extending his gratitude and message of motivation to this year’s members of The Forefront.
