The three-peat champs received the golden beams of the sun again in this yearโs Gordon Collegeโs sportsfest.
In an interview, Mr. Christian Loid Valenzuela, CEASโ table tennis coach, points out that their victory, despite the anticipation, weighed heavily on their shoulders, as being the defending champ for the overall category also entails high expectations.
โPressuring siya, โdi lang sa coaches, lalo na sa players, given na marami rin sa amin ang hindi na nakalaro because it’s either they graduated last year or disallowed due to being LCUAA players. Given that, mahirap ding adjustment sa amin sa CEAS to scout new and promising players,โ Mr. Valenzuela stressed out.
Furthermore, the table tennis coach also expressed how the Mentors proved true to the high expectations as they went over the heights of their flight last year.
โWith what transpired yesterday, it only proves that CEAS Mentors know no bounds. We’re limitless for as long as our desire to enjoy and win games are there,โ the coach said.
Lastly, to send a message to the other departments whom the Mentors battled this SIKLAB, Mr. Valenzuela sent out a message in the hope that everyone will adhere to this yearโs sportsfestโs theme.
โCongratulations din sa ibang departments natin, as they all proved that they also have what it takes to become a home of their own champions. May this year’s sports festival ignite us all towards strength despite diversity,โ he added.

In addition, SIKLAB 2024 was a huge success in advocating its theme as per Mr. Roy De Vera, SIKLAB 2024 Coordinator. He also expressed his joy as this yearโs event fostered a healthy competition.
โMasaya dahil nakita natin na nagco-compete tayo with a healthy competition, so hindi siya โyong competition na sobrang bigat para sa ibaโt ibang department. Naging healthy competition siya dahil sa bawat competition kahit โyung ibang department, nagse-celebrate sila for the win nung isang particular department,โ the sportsfest coordinator celebrated.
Besides SIKLABโs success, Mr. De Vera looked forward to a longer preparation day for the succeeding sportsfest of Gordon College for a much more triumphant one next year.
โSiguro weโre replanning na mas marami โyong bilang ng araw o linggo or event months to prepare ng bawat department para at least mas maging mas maganda ang sportsfest by 2025. Also, weโre planning by 2025 na ganoโn pa rin, na makapaghanda tayo nang maaga sa sportsfest para sa preparation for our national,โ he said with hope.
