Gordon College’s Interactive Organization of Natural Science (IONS) officiated a research seminar for graduating students with the theme, “IONS-IN-ACTION: Igniting Outstanding Narratives for Scholarly and Successful Journal Publications,” on November 17, 2023.
Meanwhile, in an interview with The Forefront, John Diezel Mama-o, President of IONS, said that the activity was proposed by Mr. Kristoffer Paul C. Obispo, Adviser of IONS. He also mentioned that this was the first seminar their organization had ever held.
Furthermore, the said seminar helped the participants on the process of making their thesis studies into a publishable research journal. “The seminar workshop covers key topics such as selecting the right journal, structuring the article, crafting a compelling abstract, adhering to journal guidelines, and addressing peer reviewer feedback,” Mama-o added.
Moreover, participants look into techniques for making engaging introductions, arranging research findings, improving impactful results, and weaving together discussions that attracts readers and journal editors.
In addition, the event had 50 participants from BSEd-Science, Math, Social Studies, BA Communication, and BS Tourism Management of the institution.
