Clark, Pampanga – Commission on Higher Education III (CHEDRO3) led by Dr. Lora L. Yusi, Director IV of CHEDRO3, spearheaded the Central Luzon Higher Education Internationalization Conference on June 27, 2024 at Hotel Seoul. The event centered on the theme “Higher Education Internationalization: Breaking Barriers Towards Fostering Quality Education in Central Luzon.” Gordon College OIC – College President, Dr. Imelda DP. Soriano and Ms. Kristin Joy A. Mendoza, Director for Institutional Planning, Development and Linkages participated in this important undertaking along with educators and administrators from across the region.
The morning session, titled “Setting the International Stage: Navigating Standards and Unveiling Global Horizons,” began with Dr. Rhodora I. Dela Rosa, Head of the University Graduate Program Office of Central Luzon State University. Dr. Dela Rosa gave an in-depth analysis of the standards and requirements set by international higher education analytics firms, emphasizing the importance of aligning local institutions with global benchmarks. Following her presentation, Dr. Parsons Noble Hail, Director of the International Affairs Office of Central Luzon State University, led a talk on effectively packaging applications for international rankings. His talk underscored the importance of strategic communication and presentation in securing a place in the global academic field.
In the afternoon, the conference transitioned to “Exemplifying Best Practices from Success Stories and Building Pathways for Internationalization.” Representatives from Mabalacat City College, Tarlac State University, Bulacan State University, Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology, and Tarlac Agricultural University shared their experiences and innovative approaches to internationalization. Their presentations offered valuable insights and practical strategies, highlighting the significance of learning from successful initiatives within the region. The conference concluded with Closing Message from Dr. John Wesley S. Calagui, Education Supervisor II at CHEDRO3.
Overall, the conference marked a pivotal step towards improving the global competitiveness of higher education institutions in Central Luzon.
