GC’s 21ST COMMENCEMENT EXERCISES AND THE 2ND FACE-TO-FACE GRADUATION SINCE 2020

Gordon College’s 21st Commencement Exercises with the theme “Imbuiding Mindful Intelligence and Gratitude Mindset for Greater Success,” held on July 14, 2023, at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center (SBFZ), is the 2nd in-person graduation ceremony since the pandemic started.

The event started with the procession of flags and colors, the entrance of the candidates for graduation, faculty members, college officials, the board of trustees, and lastly, the commencement speaker.

Followed by a prayer led by Ms. Lizette Ann P. Sia, Program Coordinator of BSTM, the singing of the National Anthem, the Olongapo Hymn, and the Gordon College Hymn.

Prof. Arlida M. Pame, College President, gave her sincere opening remarks, while Dr. Imelda DP. Soriano, College Administrator, also graced the floor as she delivered a heartfelt special message to the graduates.

The event continued with the presentation of a total of 1,359 graduates, led by Mr. Rowel Y. Castillo, College Registrar. Then followed by the acceptance and confirmation, and an inspirational message by Hon. Atty. Rolen C. Paulino, City Mayor and Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

Followed by the introduction of the commencement speaker, Atty. Ryan L. Estevez, DPA, Executive Director of UNIFAST, was officiated by Dr. Victor C. Quimen Jr., Dean of the College of Allied Health Studies. Then the awarding of a plaque and token to the guest speaker was assigned to Hon. Paulino Jr., Prof. Pame, and Dr. Soriano.

The distribution of diplomas, awarding of academic honors, and special awards were led by Hon. Paulino, Prof. Pame, Dr. Soriano, Dr. Paguio, and college deans, while the reading of the graduates was designated to the program coordinators.

Graduation Speech by Ms. Shaula Mae P. Estocado, BACOMM, Magna Cum Laude, Pledge of Loyalty officiated by Ms. Everly Stecel R. Bayog, President of the Graduating Class 2023, and the Alumni Oath led by Mr. Michael P. Tuyay, President of Gordon College Alumni Association.

Graduates then enjoyed their graduation song while looking back on their journey through a visual presentation, followed by the closing remarks by Dr. Darwin P. Paguio, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and lastly, a closing prayer by Ms. Rowenalyn P. Sagun, Program Coordinator of BSED-Filipino. The event was concluded by a recessional ceremony.
