Supreme Student Council (SSC) candidates from Tindig and Tayo Partylists persuade the Gordon College community through the Miting De Avance (MDA) held via Zoom and Facebook Live Stream on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

“They will be your leaders. They will be your voice. They are the ones who are going to be on your side when you need them.” Ms. Lovelyn P. Ceralde, Vice President for the Office of the Student Welfare and Services (OSWS) mentioned in her opening remarks.

Moreover, she added advice for the students of Gordon College (GC) to be wise and choose the candidates that they can trust to hold office in the student council.

As the program progressed, the Chairman of both parties gave their opening statements as they introduced their respective slate.

Furthermore, each aspirant was allowed to present and reiterate their platforms and plans for the institution. Hence, to encourage the GCians to vote for them.

Withal, the program moved forward to the open forum segment wherein questions from the GC students were gathered by the OSWS and College Student Electoral Board (CSEB) through the Google form link.

The questions put the candidates on a hot seat as they answered carefully in just two minutes.

The MDA lasted for three hours, ending with the closing remarks of outgoing SSC Chairperson Clarissa Mae Berja and the introduction of the election system developed by the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) students with the lead developer Mr. Melner Balce.

The Forefront – Gordon College will continue to serve as a watchdog of every GCian in monitoring and scrutinizing the candidates in the upcoming GC-SSC Elections.

On the other hand, the election period is set for May 03, 2024, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
