OLONGAPO CITY—Gordon College (GC) celebrated the dedication and achievements of its faculty and staff at the 2025 Awards and Recognition Ceremony held last February 22.

The event opened with an invocation, followed by the Philippine National Anthem and the Gordon College Hymn.

Gordon College President Dr. Imelda P. Sorianodelivered an inspiring opening message, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and service.

“Binabati ko lahat ng ating pararangalan, ang inyong sipag at sakripisyo ay patuloy na nagbibigay inspirasyon upang ipagpatuloy natin ang ating misyon—ang paghubog ng isang dekalidad at mahusay na mag aaral” she stated.

She also expressed that this day should stand as a reminder of the spirit of unity at GC, an institution that not only strives for academic excellence but also aims to use that knowledge to bring meaningful change in the lives of Olongapo’s students.

Hon. Atty. Rolen C. Paulino Jr., Chairperson of the Board of Trustees and City Mayor of Olongapo, received an exemplary leadership award and graced the event with a special message, recognizing the invaluable contributions of the faculty and staff.

“Ang lifeblood po ng Gordon College ay ang mga teachers natin, nakuha natin ang recognition ng Gordon College, ‘yung record sa lahat ng Boards, dahil sa inyo, dahil sa faculty, sa mga teaching staff natin at s’yempre dahil sa non-teaching (staff)” Paulino added.

Among the highlights of the ceremony was the awarding of service milestones, acknowledging individuals who have dedicated 5, 10, 20, and 25 years of service to the institution.

For five years of service, the awardees were:

Ms. Sheena T. Bolaños

Ms. Sherrine Angel Malong

Ms. Patricia Anne A. Paras

Reaching ten years of service, the honorees include Ms. Evangeline R. Incocencio and Mr. Ronnie D. Luy.

Meanwhile, those who have dedicated fifteen years to the institution were:

Mr. Jason M. Bagason

Ms. Kristin Joy A. Mendoza

Ms. Anne Mayelle P. Nieves

Dr. Victor C. Quimen Jr.

Mr. Virgilio M. Managbanag was among the recipients of the 15 Years of Service Award who unfortunately passed away before the ceremony. But to his honor, the institution played a tribute video, celebrating his contributions and remembering his lasting impact on the community.

The notable honorees included Ms. Catherine M. Mobo, who served the institution for20 years; and Mr. Leonilo A. Ching, Mr. Eder E. Magsayo, Ms. Teresita S. Manalo, and Ms. Thelma B. Ramos for 25 years.

On the other hand, the Career Development Awards recognized 32 faculty and staff members for their professional growth and contributions.

Added to this, the Honesto Awards honored individuals for their integrity and commitment, including Mr. Ranny C. Amployo, Mr. Ervin B. Andrade, and Mr. Joseph A. Bacla.

Recognizing exceptional performance, Mr. Vince Richard Q. Gomez received the Outstanding Performance Faculty Award, while Cornelio V. Sobero was named Outstanding Administrative Personnel.

Meanwhile, the Outstanding Department/Unit Awards were presented to the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM), the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA), and the College of Allied Health Studies (CAHS), highlighting their excellence in academic and administrative contributions.

The event concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Erlinda Casela-Abarintos, Vice President for Administration and Finance, commending the awardees for their hard work and dedication to Gordon College’s mission of academic excellence.

“Maraming maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat for trusting our institution to be your source of energy, to be your source of inspiration, to be your source of motivation and to be your service to our community,”she concluded.
