FUNdation RUN ’24 Brings Hues as GC Silver Jubilee Kicks Off
To mark the start of the foundation week, the Gordon College Facutly Association (GCFAs) conducted a fun run activity entitled, “FUNdation RUN 2024: 25 Years of Silver Success”, at Gordon College, Tapinac Oval Sports Complex, February 18, 2024.
During the event, several students from BCAEd led the warm-up zumba exercise before the start of the race at exactly 6:27AM.
Furthermore, Dr. Imelda DP. Soriano, College Administrator, welcomed the students and faculty members during the opening of the event as she expressed her gratitude to the organizers and to the students who participated in the endeavor.
“Kaya salamat sa lahat ng suporta ninyo. Yung maliit na amount na ‘yan ay talagang malaking bagay para sa mga faculties. We need to be healthy because a healthy body is a healthy mind. Labas muna tayo sa academics natin and i-enjoy natin ang buong linggo,” the college administrator exclaimed.
Moreover, JB John Ecaldre Piodo, 21 years old from CEAS Department, topped the race under the Student (Male) Category with an outstanding time of 11 minutes and 52 seconds.
“First time ko palang ‘to since first year palang ako. Masaya ako kasi maraming nag-engage sa race na ‘to. Magandang gawing habit ‘tong pagtakbo as sports. Nagpapasalamat ako sa organizers, kay Coach Roy, and kay God,” the first finisher said.
Besides Piodo, top finishers also include Mica Faustino (Student Category, Female – 13:31), Sir Lance Ignacio (Faculty Category, Male – 16:25), and Ma’am Rachell Ignacio (Faculty Category, Female – 22:12).
On the other hand, the Gordon College will be celebrating its 25th Founding Anniversary on February 20-24, 2024 while the earnings of the event will proceed to the renovation of the college’s building.
