As part of the Transparency Roadshow in Olongapo City, the Presidential Communications Office, through its Freedom of Information – Program Management Office, organized a Campus Caravan at Gordon College.
The Campus Caravan, an integral part of the 2023 Transparency Roadshow, aims to cultivate a culture of transparency and accountability within educational institutions like Gordon College. By acquainting students and faculty members with the Freedom of Information (FOI) mechanism, our objective is to empower them to access and utilize vital information for their academic pursuits.
Professor Arlida Pame, the College President of Gordon College, highlighted the significance of FOI as a valuable research tool for accessing a wide range of government data and statistics.
Likewise, Atty. Evangeline Q. de Leon, Assistant Secretary for Operation of PCO, has underscored the significance of information accessibility in fostering a more engaged and discerning student body who will wholeheartedly champion FOI’s noble causes.
The Campus Caravan features a comprehensive discussion on FOI led by Mr. John Wilmer Jimenez, the Communications Lead of FOI-PMO. This will be followed by an interactive session on the eFOI portal facilitated by Mr. Martin Jann Ceneta, the Information Technology Officer of FOI-PMO.
