Empowering communities through sustainable livelihood and inclusive development, Weave of Strength: Turning Scraps into Sustainable Livelihood was conducted on April 7, 2026 at the Gordon College Function Hall. The initiative provided solo parents and economically disadvantaged individuals with practical skills in transforming recycled fabric scraps into sustainable sources of income.

The program featured an inspiring message from College President Dr. Imelda DP. Soriano and the support of Vice President for RDCES, Dr. Ediric D. Gadia, reinforcing the college’s commitment to community service and development.

With the support of the Rotary Club of Downtown Olongapo, and through the coordinated efforts of RDCES and the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management as the implementing unit, the initiative reflects Gordon College’s core values of Character, Excellence, and Service.

To ensure long-term sustainability, the initiative adopts a capacity-building approach by equipping administrative personnel to serve as future facilitators, enabling continuous implementation and expanded community reach.
