Weave of Strength: Turning Scraps into Sustainable Livelihood Orientation and Training was successfully conducted on April 22, 2026, at the Audio Visual Room (AVR) of Gordon College. The event served as an orientation and training session for administrative personnel, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to become future trainers for the program.
The training was led by College President, Dr. Imelda DP. Soriano, who demonstrated technical weaving skills, proper tool handling, and safety practices, followed by the active participation of administrative personnel, including institutional staff, extension personnel, selected faculty members, person with disabilities (PWD) and single parents.
This initiative was made possible through the support of the Rotary Club of Downtown Olongapo, the DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Unit), the RDCES (Research Development and Community Extension Services), and in collaboration with the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management, further strengthening its goal of promoting sustainability, skills development, and community empowerment by transforming fabric scraps into meaningful livelihood opportunities.
