Gordon College Celebrates World Teachers’ Day

GORDON COLLEGE MAIN BLDG—The Office of the Student Welfare and Services (OSWS) hosted a World Teachers’ Day Celebration, together with various student organizations, which aims to honor the dedicated instructors of the institution on October 6, 2025, at Gordon College Main Bldg—Function Hall.

The event began with an opening prayer and remarks from Dr. Imelda DP. Soriano, Gordon College President, and Dr. Darwin P. Paguio, Vice President for Academic Affairs.

“We cannot have a lavish lifestyle in teaching. But your dedication and passion will definitely [inaudible] through saying our students’ success— changing their lives, especially those who are underprivileged students, and you are making them a story,” said Dr. Imelda DP. Soriano, showing her gratitude for the effort of Gordon College’s faculty.

Dr. Darwin P. Paguio also expressed to the faculty that the celebration isn’t just about their perseverance, but also to take care of all the hard work in the classrooms as they invest in nurturing curiosity that will nourish them for a lifetime.

After the opening ceremony, Performing Arts Students Ensemble (PASE) Voci tributed a chorale performance that honors the educators.

To spark joy with the event, the College of Allied Health Studies (CAHS) Student Council, Midwifery Student Organization (MSO), and the Nursing Student Organization (NSO) hosted games to energize and entertain the teachers.

Furthermore, the PASE Ballo sparked warmth and embrace with a performance number.

Moreover, the Supreme Student Council (SSC) and Human Resource Management Unit (HRMU) conducted an awarding ceremony to appreciate the faculty’s skills with admiration and humor.

Meanwhile, Hon. Rolen Paulino Jr., City Mayor of Olongapo, held a speech and cash raffle for the faculty.

“Salamat sa sacrifices niyo, sa mahabang pasensiya ninyo, tiyaka sa lahat ng ginagawa niyo para sa mga students natin,” Paulino stated.

An Audio-Visual Presentation (AVP) video was shown to the faculty, featuring greetings and messages from the students, followed by the students who presented gifts to their beloved tutors.

Lastly, another raffle event was held with prizes for the faculty, which filled the room with joy and laughter.
