SMX OLONGAPO CENTRAL— The 4th Distinguished Alumni Service Awards (DASA) 2025 gathered alumni who paved innovation and inspiration for Gordon College on October 11, held at SMX Olongapo Central.

Mr. Joseph Pusing, former Gordon College Alumni Association Inc. (GCAAI) President, proudly presented all the first-time projects that happened on the initiative of giving back to their alma mater: Alumni cards, Financial support for the student council and organizations, Cosme Y. Sering Library, and a fifty thousand cash donation for the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) Department for the extension of rooms for accreditation.

“One of the highlights of our term is the donation of the alumni association’s newest student lounge, which was blessed on August 15, 2025. This will not be possible without the help and guidance of everyone,” he stated.

Also, Dr. Imelda DP. Soriano, the college president, exclaimed in her keynote speech that the world needs someone like them who wagers unselfish services in a world full of selfishness.

Furthermore, Ms. Rose Anne Cañeda Dumalo, alumna from the Bachelor of Science in Education – English (BSEd-English) Batch 2015, expressed in her speech that titles and recognition will not define us but the people that we serve along the way.

“Higit sa pagiging magaling ay ang pagiging mabuti. You may be the best in the field, but if you lack character, people will remember how you treated them more than how well you did your job,” she added.

Moreover, Ms. Ellinor T. Manaois-Yco, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Batch 2011; Mr. Arben R. Cauilan, Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration (BSCA) Batch 2011; Nikki Antonette Chieng Carlos, Bachelor of Science in Tourism (BSTM); and Mr. Willy R. Antigo, Master of Arts in Education (MAEd) Batch 2019, were awarded with recognitions and plaques for their outstanding service and contributions.

In addition, Ms. Lovelyn P. Ceralde, DASA 2025 Overall Chairperson, extended her warm welcome and gratitude to the alumni, stakeholders, and those who have been bringing their best to provide a more quality education and experience inside the institution.

Finally, the program ended with an oath-taking for the newly elected GCAAI officers and board of trustees for the fiscal year 2025 – 2026. | via John Patrick Mateo/The FOREFRONT
