GC Gives Back to the Community By Altruism Activity 2023

Gordon College Research, Development, and Community Extension Services (RDCES), together with the Office of Student Welfare and Services (OSWS), orchestrated the Altruism activity 2023 with the theme, “Gift of Love: Spreading Joy and Kindness this Holiday Season” for the residents of Sitio Mampueng on December 22, 2023.

The donation drive was participated by different student organizations, faculty members, volunteers, and administrative personnels. Additionally, its impact transcended mere material donations and participants went beyond to demonstrate their unwavering support.

Consequently, student organizations not only contributed goods but also facilitated engaging games and programs for the community.

Furthermore, in an interview with The Forefront, Mr. Dante Sardina, RDCES Coordinator, highlighted the remarkable surge in support within the GC community. He further note the escalating popularity of contributing to various causes among GCians.

“Indicating a shift towards more meaningful and significant expressions of gratitude. Increase in the number of volunteers from students, faculty members, and administrative personnel,” he also stated.

Moreover, Mr. Sardina mentioned that the future plans for this activity have not yet been disclosed or determined. Nevertheless, they remain confident that this significant occasion will continue to be successful and persist.

“Tasks were delegated to community extension coordinators, unit or department representatives, and student volunteers. Clear schedules for receiving donations, repackaging goods, and distributing them were established. Effective communication and coordination among all those involved were ensured for the successful execution of the planned activities,” he added.
