GENERAL INFORMATION AND GUIDELINES

Pursuant to Gordon College Alumni Association, Inc. (GCAAI) Board Resolution No. 4, series of 2022, the GCAAI establishes the DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI SERVICE AWARD (DASA) to honor Gordon College graduates who have excelled both in their professional and personal careers and who have served as an example to other alumni, students, and the community, both locally and globally. Starting this year, the GCAAI Board of Trustees will recognize the exemplary service and distinguished achievements that brought honor to the Institution and have made significant contributions to society. The GC-DASA recipients will exemplify the core values that the Institution uphold since its establishment: Exceptional Character, Remarkable Excellence, And Unselfish Service.

The GC-DASA shall be the highest honor bestowed by the Alumni Association and will be an event to be celebrated annually as part of the GC Founding Anniversary and/or GC Alumni Homecoming.

GENERAL GUIDELINES:

  1. Only graduates of Gordon College (or GC, formerly Olongapo City Colleges) are eligible for the GC-DASA. The nominee shall be a member of the Gordon College Alumni Association, Inc. as confirmed by its Board.
  2. Any GC graduate, faculty member, or stakeholders may make nominations for the GC-DASA. Self–nominations are accepted. The nominee shall accomplish the Official Nomination Form to be provided by the GCAAI. No limitation will be placed on the total number of nominations accepted for consideration.

  5. Only living candidates are considered. In the event of the death of a candidate between notification of the award and the award ceremony, the award may be given posthumously with the permission of the family and the GCAAI. In the event that the awardee declines to accept the award and/or fails to attend the awarding ceremonies, the GCAAI reserves the right to withdraw the award.
  6. A GC graduate sitting as a member of the selection committee or a member of the GCAAI Board of Trustees is not eligible to receive the award. This individual is eligible for nomination after a one-year waiting period from the date he/she step down from his/her role.
  7. Recipients are only eligible for one GC-DASA in a lifetime.
  8. The recipients will receive a plaque or certificate of recognition and will be posted on the official FB page of the GCAAI. It will announce the annual recipients through various methods and honor each recipient with the appropriate recognition.
  9. If for any reason, the GCAAI is not able to conduct the Awards as planned (including due to tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical difficulties, pandemic, or any other causes beyond the control of the organizer which impact the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Awards), then they reserve the right in their sole discretion to make any reasonable variation to the Awarding Ceremony.
  10. The Nomination Committee and/or GCAAI Board of Trustees may disqualify any nominee that they reasonably determine has breached any of the terms and conditions or otherwise engaged in unlawful or other improper conduct that may bring the Awards into disrepute or jeopardize the fair and proper conduct of the Awards.
  11. Other guidelines may be promulgated as decided by the GCAAI Board of Trustees.
