{"id":909,"date":"2023-09-07T18:27:00","date_gmt":"2023-09-07T18:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gordoncollege.edu.ph\/w3\/?p=909"},"modified":"2023-09-22T02:11:47","modified_gmt":"2023-09-22T02:11:47","slug":"grguric-on-nationwide-earthquake-drill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gordoncollege.edu.ph\/w3\/grguric-on-nationwide-earthquake-drill\/","title":{"rendered":"Grguric on Nationwide Earthquake Drill: \u201cThe faster the better.\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gordon College conducted an earthquake drill following the 3rd Nationwide Earthquake Drill held at East Tapinac Oval, Olongapo City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The drill kicked off at exactly 2:00 PM with the students, admins, instructors, and other offices practicing the duck, cover, and hold as the initial response for the earthquake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GCians were guided by the Civil Security and Service Unit (CSSU) personnel and instructors to evacuate accordingly to the Oval Track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The purpose of this drill is to capacitate not only the students but also all occupants, personnel, and clients for safety, especially since the building is up to six floors,\u201d said Ms. Jerica B. Grguric, Head of the GC Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grguric also added that Olongapo City is one of the participants nationwide, headed by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for the record, six minutes was the exact time of the drill from the alarm to the exit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The earthquake drill is a quarterly exercise to prepare the institution for an immediate and accurate response to a natural disaster.
