Gordon College continues to advance its commitment to providing globally relevant and industry-responsive learning opportunities through its participation in the Philippine\u2013Taiwan Semiconductor Microcredentials Consortium, an initiative led by the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) in partnership with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and key higher education institutions across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a result of this strategic collaboration, GC has officially nominated ten (10) students from the College of Computer Studies\u2014five (5) from the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program and five (5) from the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) program\u2014to participate in the Semiconductor Microcredentials Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through this opportunity, the selected students will undertake specialized courses in semiconductor manufacturing, semiconductor materials physics, and industrial electronics, equipping them with foundational competencies in one of the world’s most critical and rapidly growing industries. Beyond the initial training, participants may gain access to a broader talent development pathway that includes advanced learning opportunities, industry engagement, internships, and potential international exposure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This milestone demonstrates how institutional partnerships can create meaningful opportunities for students while contributing to the development of a future-ready workforce.
