{"id":3868,"date":"2026-06-05T12:26:00","date_gmt":"2026-06-05T04:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gordoncollege.edu.ph\/w3\/?p=3868"},"modified":"2026-06-08T10:27:59","modified_gmt":"2026-06-08T02:27:59","slug":"2630-nstp-graduates-answer-the-call-of-nation-building","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gordoncollege.edu.ph\/w3\/2630-nstp-graduates-answer-the-call-of-nation-building\/","title":{"rendered":"2,630 NSTP Graduates Answer the Call of Nation-Building"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">OLONGAPO CITY \u2014 A total of 2,630 Gordon College (GC) students gather for this year\u2019s National Service Training Program (NSTP) Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday, June 4, at the SMX Convention Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The program commenced with an opening prayer led by National Service Reserve Corps (NSRC) Vice President for Logistics Luis Miguel Tupas, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, the Olongapo City Hymn, and the Gordon College Hymn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NSTP Head Carlmaulen J. Cura delivered the opening remarks and presented the candidates for graduation, which was subsequently confirmed by College President Dr. Imelda D.P. Soriano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In his message, Olongapo City Mayor Hon. Atty. Rolen C. Paulino Jr. emphasized the importance of making the most of every moment and encouraged completers to value education and face challenges with courage and purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Soriano also addressed the graduates, highlighting that service is not merely a duty but a calling answered by the heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis is not the end of the program, but the beginning of a legacy,\u201d she declared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the theme, \u201cAdvancing NSTP Through a Whole-of-Community Approach: Honing the Youth as Pillars of Nation-Building,\u201d the ceremony was graced by Senator of the Republic of the Philippines Hon. Ana Theresia \u201cRisa\u201d Hontiveros as the keynote speaker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Senator Risa emphasized the importance of authenticity and presence in public service. Most importantly, the importance of showing up, reminding students to face challenges, connect with people, and fulfill their responsibilities as future nation-builders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHindi perpekto ang Pilipinas, pero atin ito.
