Aspiring graduates of Batch 2026 attended the labor seminar entitled: “Work Ready: The Starter’s Pack for Career Success,” aiming to provide knowledge in navigating future careers on May 13, 2026, at SMX Convention Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ms. Precious Al Nacatab, one of the keynote speakers, reminded the students that leading with integrity and stepping into the future with confidence are fundamental to withstanding the challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The seminar started with a question of how much the established minimum wage is in Region III, to which Nacatab answered, “Depende.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She also emphasizes that a worker should have one day off for rest as stipulated in Article 93 of the League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Ngayon, ‘pag pumasok siya ng isang linggo, dapat bayaran siya ng premium pay. Ayon po ay 30% ng sahod,” the keynote speaker said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, Ms. Angelica G. Romblon, Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Staff, shared the significance of building a proper curriculum vitae, especially if aiming for a specialized job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Paano mo i-promote or ipakilala ang sarili mo because the resume is the first thing or introduction sa company na ‘yan? Resume pa lang po, dapat napapakita niyo [nang] employable po kayo,” Romblon instilled in the students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moreover, Mr. Alberto G. Gines Jr., PESO staff, also drew on experience from enduring the 2020 lockdown to shifting to face-to-face classes, concluding that flexibility is a vital skill to possess for the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“So dapat, sa mga ganoong scenario, dapat marunong tayong mag-adapt,” Gines ended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If uncertain, Mr. Lawrence John Rosas, another PESO staff, informed the attendees that SM Central and Harbor Point Ayala Malls conduct Job Fairs for first-time job seekers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
