In their best Regional Convention (RegCon) stint yet, the Gordon College – College of Education, Arts, and Sciences (CEAS) and The Forefront (TF), the official student publication of Gordon College, took home multiple awards at the Holy Angel University (HAU) Regional Convention for Teacher-Education Students last April 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
CEAS students, including those part of the student publication, seized nine awards at the convention, an annual competition for various teacher-education institutions in Central Luzon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the Teaching Demonstration competition, Rizzie Anne D. Dominguez was awarded the People\u2019s Choice Award and First Runner-up in the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) Category. Meanwhile, Sophie Joleen Evangelista won as Second Runner-up in the Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) Category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Notably, Bachelor of Arts in Communication (BACOMM) students served as the technical team for the teaching demonstrations, including Czarina Trinidad, Jan Alan Parre\u00f1as, Nathaniel De Guzman, Lianne Grace Arbiz, and Ariane Julian Martin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Instructional Materials (IMs) Making team consisting of Aeros Raphael Morales, Aira Joy Manuel, Ann Blessy Merjenio, Eisen Andrei Basa, and Renalyn Bruan also bagged three awards in the BSEd Category, including Champion and People\u2019s Choice Award. Additionally, Angelica A. Revelo, Jamilyn S. Camello, Justine C. Jazareno, Madeleine E. Caliston, and Marielle Angelica A. Rodriguez, bagged the First Runner-up for the BEEd category of the same contest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the same time, TF marked its debut and earned top spots in the Talaturu Press Conference, a competitive journalism event under RegCon that gathered campus journalists from teacher-education institutions across Central Luzon to test their skills in journalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a display of journalistic prowess, Associate Editor Lance Isaac D. Leon secured second place in the Column Writing category, while Managing Editor and Literary Editor Mikhaela B. Sagun won third place in the Literary Writing category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
