{"id":2330,"date":"2024-11-16T10:49:00","date_gmt":"2024-11-16T02:49:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gordoncollege.edu.ph\/w3\/?p=2330"},"modified":"2024-11-19T09:23:56","modified_gmt":"2024-11-19T01:23:56","slug":"gc-cahs-holds-25th-capping-pinning-and-candle-lighting-ceremony","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gordoncollege.edu.ph\/w3\/gc-cahs-holds-25th-capping-pinning-and-candle-lighting-ceremony\/","title":{"rendered":"GC CAHS holds 25th Capping, Pinning and Candle Lighting Ceremony"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The College of Allied Health Studies (CAHS) conducts its 25th Capping, Pinning and Candle Lighting Ceremony for the Level 2 students under Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) on November 14 at Subic Bay Travelers Hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the theme: \u201cOur Nurses, Our Future: The Economic Power of Care,\u201d this event marks a key milestone for student nurses towards <a><\/a>their career in clinical practice and their part in the country\u2019s economic stability and healthcare in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event started with the procession of students with their parents, faculty, and honored guests. Dr. Darwin P. Paguio, the Vice President of Academic Affairs gave his opening remarks, followed by a special message from the OIC and College President, Dr. Imelda DP. Soriano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hon. Leah Primitiva G. Samaco-Paquiz, a member of the Professional Regulatory Board of Nursing and the keynote speaker, shared an impactful message dedicating the theme of the event to the accomplished student nurses and reminded them the true essence of their profession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur theme: \u201cOur Nurses, Our Future: The Economic Power of Care\u201d is not just a standard phrase. It refers to you my dear student nurses; para sa inyo ito. Your nursing care will reflect your bodice of caring with compassion and empathy that is being taught by your clinical instructors,\u201d the keynote speaker said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCaring is the essence of nursing, tandaan natin iyan mga anak. We nurses are typically the one spending the most time with patients providing comfort, reassurance and active listening. Communication is very important,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, Hon. Paquiz highlighted how student nurses should value their profession, avoid biases in providing healthcare services, and become leaders, advocates and innovators as \u201ccare specialists\u201d. Hon. Paquiz also reminded nurses of the importance of their profession in the economic stability of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program proceeded with the capping and badging of 125 female and 52 male student nurses, with 177 total number of student nurses as presented by CAHS Dean, Dr. Victor C.
