{"id":338,"date":"2023-08-14T06:54:40","date_gmt":"2023-08-14T06:54:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gordoncollege.edu.ph\/w3\/?page_id=338"},"modified":"2025-08-20T14:07:44","modified_gmt":"2025-08-20T06:07:44","slug":"mandate-and-function","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/gordoncollege.edu.ph\/w3\/about-us\/mandate-and-function\/","title":{"rendered":"Mandate and Function"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Gordon College, formerly Olongapo City Colleges, is a local higher education institution established in 1999 under the City Government of Olongapo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The College operates by virtue of City Ordinance No. 36, Series of 2004 and its amendment City Ordinance No. 1, Series of 2025 also known as the \u201c 2025 Revised Charter of Gordon College\u201d that supersedes the City Ordinance No. 7, Series of 2018 . The proposed revision of the Charter of Gordon College aims to strengthen the promotion of excellence and delivery of education in the national and international level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Local Government of Olongapo supports and maintains its commitment to provide accessible and equitable distribution of opportunities to its constituents to acquire higher education, as well as, a responsive and relevant higher education institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Legal Bases<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>CHED Memorandum Order No. 32, Series of 2006<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Policies, Standards and Guidelines on the Establishment and Operation of Local Colleges and Universities (LCUs);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>CHED Memorandum Order No. 4, Series of 2007<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Implementing Rules of CM032, Series of 2006;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>CHED Memorandum Order No. 42, Series of 2016<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Amendment of Article V, Section 5 and 12 of CMO 32, Series of 2006;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2009-67<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Guidelines on the Establishment of Local Colleges and Universities by Local Governments, and on the Operation of Higher Education Programs;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Republic Act No. 7722<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Higher Education Act of 1994;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Republic Act No. 9160<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Local Government code of 1991;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>City Ordinance No. 1, Series of 2025<\/strong> &#8211; 2025 Revised Charter of Gordon College<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>City Ordinance No. 7, Series of 2018<\/strong> &#8211; Revised Charter of Gordon College of 2018;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>City Ordinance No. 8, Series of 2010<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 An Ordinance Amending the Legal Basis on the Creation and Operation of Gordon College;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Resolution No. 42, Series of 2002&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2013 A Resolution Chaning the Name of Olongapo City Colleges to \u201cGordon College\u201d;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>City Ordinance No. 9, Series of 1999<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 An Ordinance Creating Olongapo City Colleges<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gordon College, formerly Olongapo City Colleges, is a local higher education institution established in 1999 under the City Government of Olongapo.
